Taubman to build new shopping centre in Puerto Rico

Taubman Centres Incorporation, a US-based shopping centre developer, has announced plans to build The Mall of San Juan, a $405 million shopping centre, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Spread over two floors, the Mall of San Juan will be designed on contemporary lines, with reference to the rich culture and heritage of San Juan. The mall is slated to be the first upscale mall on the island and will span. Its architecture will have a timeless character and will display rich combination of quality materials and finishes.
The mall will be marked by its customer-friendly amenities, such as easy parking and access, which will add to the comfort of the mall goers. The Mall of San Juan will house more than 100 specialty stores and restaurants. Plans also include to accommodate a 264-room Crowne Plaza hotel and casino.
The Mall of San Juan will sit adjacent to the San Jose Lagoon at the south end of the Teodoro Moscoso Bridge. The opening of the mall is pencilled for 2014 end.
